FOUDROYANT by Sara Blechman (2009)
"Foudroyant: stunning or dazzling in effect.
I went to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine on 110th Street and Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan. The Cathedral is stunning, but I was more dazzled by the surprising inhabitant of the Cathedral's gardens. Here is even more evidence of the breathtaking unpredictability and wonder of New York."
I met with Sara Blechman yesterday to give an interview (!) for her Media Mavericks class at NYU, taught by filmmaker and friend, Lynne Sachs. It was truly a meeting of the minds, as you can see by Sara's beautiful cinema-poem revealing the astonishing apparition of the graceful white peacock. Its gossamer-like feathers are otherworldly! Sara's questions were astute, perceptive, and kept me on my toes! I was in awe of her journalistic approach, and she rivals some of our best bloggers. The experience was an immense honor. Sara is working on a documentary as well, and it is an inspiring, intriguing topic! Keep your eyes open for this artist!
