Christmas Tree Stand - Bruce McClure

Solar flicker and flash transmitted from a floating eclipse sending streams of photons into the unconscious convergence of optical ecstasy as the omniscient retina osmotically receives 2:4 film loops from 2:4 film projectors, the circular pupil perceives the pulsing frequency of 360 degrees of light, the orb and its glowing membrane, subjects of luminescent primordial worship, generated from over-the-top syncopated seismic light emission, euphoria inducing electromagnetic radiation, visceral & spiritual, combusting with reverberating sound, the metamorphosis within a musical chrysalis of seductive semidarkness, the lunar ocean, and the infinite sky . . .

Rocked my world . . .

From Bruce McClure:

"Part one and on this side of the punched plate scenics, darkness is shaped and zippered-up in the flicker shuffle between two machines hurling out syncopated flash and bump projectiles like unnumbered sheep materialized as electric traces in friendly in-betweens.  On the other side, darkness is displaced by glow lines that are ordered chronologically in the concatenated conceit of the triple bladed shutter beat and then the transverse framework of film looped and interposed in light's trajectory.  Within certain limits each projector meters out the light according to a standard frequency established in a concordat between physiological psychology and an economy of practice.  The film frames, meanwhile are a provisional agreement, ranged in patterns of translucence to be discretely gated and haltingly examined by the half blind Cyclops who afterwards sends them streaming over the second light from the exciter transducer.  It is here that the noisy Cyclops with its first light critical flicker is rejoined by a broadcast of sound that agitates the hegemony reigning over the binocular guests who share its cave.  The first light, combined into a frothy double flicker, is sluiced through a prothetic pupil, non-reflexive, non-contractile, and motionless that dissembles the darkness of a reflective screen . . . "Part I
(2) Modified 16mm. projectors (each film shoe assembly is fitted with a punched metal plate insert), variable transformers, 50mm, zoom lens, and (2) film loops (ratio of 1 clear frame to 3 obscured frames).  Optical sound with equalizer and digital display petals." - BM

+ Part II & Part III (4) 16mm projectors + (4) film loops . . .
